Dear Teacher,

Weymouth Dance Festival 2021

Please find enclosed the Syllabus for the 2021 Festival which this year is to be held from 23rd to the 28th October.

Please note: Entries will be accepted on a first come first served basis this year and we reserve the right to close entries early.

Closing Date: 26th June 12pm

Covid 19
We are hoping to hold a full “normal” festival this year, but as per last year, are still subject to government guidelines. Please join our mailing list from our website to keep track of any changes. We will also put these on our website and Facebook.

Online Entries
For the first time this year we will be accepting entries via our online system. Please find a link to this from our website. We will not be accepting paper entries, and as such you will not find a paper entry form available this year. If you have any issues, please contact weymouthdancefestival@gmail.com.

All England Qualifier
We will be an All England Dance qualifier this year. As such we will be accepting adjusted age limits. Please pay careful attention to this when entering.

Music
This year we will be asking teachers to electronically submit the music in MP3 or MP4 format. This will be for all your pupils.

Novice Category Age Limits
Please note that the age categories for the Novice sections have changed this year. We now have only 2 age categories per novice genre, 8, 9 & 10 years, and 11 -14 years.

Please could you remind any of your students who are holding trophies to return them to our Trophies Secretary, Alison Hunter, by 27th June 2021.

Can you please nominate one person in your school to be your representative responsible for ensuring that any trophies awarded in 2020 are returned on time and in good condition?  Please forward the name of your representative to Alison c/o the above email address.

May we respectfully request that all teachers ensure that no electrical items are plugged into college sockets. We do not want to risk damaging the college electrical system and losing the venue.  This is a condition of our contract with the College.

We are very grateful for all the help we received from volunteers last year. We would be really pleased to welcome back these volunteers this year. If you would like more information about volunteering please do email the above email address.

Please do stay in touch via our website, email address or mailing list.

We hope you are all keeping safe and well in the current circumstances and we look forward to seeing you at the Festival.  In the meantime if you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact either June or myself at the above email address.

Yours sincerely
Tamara Collier (Festival secretary)
